Who are we?
We are the Campbell River Maritime Heritage Centre, located on Georgia Strait in the heart of British Columbia's greatest sports fishery.
We love to help our visitors have fun while learning, no matter what their age. We believe that people continue to learn throughout their lives and we believe in making our stories come alive through our artifacts.
We are a popular destination for both local residents and tourists alike. Each year, more people visit the Campbell River Maritime Heritage Centre than the previous. A majority of our visitors are families from within the province of British Columbia but we also see many tourists from each Canadian province and territory as well as from around the globe. Our team of staff and volunteers enjoy participating in guided educational tours and we are a popular destination for a variety of community groups.
To evolve and manage the Maritime Heritage Centre as a focal point of Campbell River for the year-round involvement, education and enjoyment of our citizens, businesses and visitors.
To promote and foster educational, historical and social activities relating to the maritime heritage of the Campbell River area and to provide a home for marine documents and artifacts which may otherwise be lost.
